Some may do it to look a certain way, others may do it because it makes their bodies feel better, and there are those that have specific diets because of certain conditions. One disease that is directly influenced by food is diabetes, and what you eat may help or worsen your condition. The key to good nutrition is balance. By paying attention to what you eat, you see where your calories come from, and you see the quality of the food you choose. Some foods are higher in calories but contain no nutrients, whereas some are so absent in calories but are high in fiber and vitamins. It is important to note that you should eat what you want instead of forcing yourself to completely change your diet for the sake of being healthy 24/7. Find things you enjoy, but also indulge in treats as long as it's done sparingly. Balance is the key to health. |
